Open Access Principles at Co-Action Publishing

Co-Action Publishing is an Open Access scholarly publisher. All content published by Co-Action Publishing is made freely accessible immediately upon publication, without restriction, under licenses that provide for liberal re-use. Where agreements are in place (e.g. PubMed Central, OpenAire), Co-Action Publishing provides automatic posting on behalf of authors.

Authors contributing to Co-Action Publishing titles agree to publish their articles either under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 Unported license (CCNC), or the Creative Commons Attribution license 4.0 (CCBY). According to both, authors agree to allow third parties to share their work (copy, distribute, transmit) and to adapt it, under the condition that the authors are given credit, and that in the event of reuse or distribution, the terms of this license are made clear. According to the 4.0 version of these licenses, those re-using content shall also indicate any alterations. In the case of the CCNC, re-use excludes commercial use in the case of reprints or permission to reproduce an article in a publication intended for commercial sales.

Where funder requirements include use of a CCBY license, Co-Action Publishing will comply.

Authors retain copyright of their work, with first publication rights granted to Co-Action Publishing or to the owner of the journal in question. In the case of the CCNC license, authors are required to transfer copyrights associated with commercial use to the Publisher or owner of the journal.

Co-Action Publishing strongly encourages authors to post the final version of their articles in all relevant repositories, to relevant websites and to share with colleagues. All authors, regardless of which license is applied to their published work, are welcome to post any version of their manuscript in any repository or on any website.

OAI metadata harvesting is available for all journals published by Co-Action Publishing. This can be reached using the journal’s primary URL and adding “/oai”, e.g. http://www.globalhealthaction.net/index.php/gha/oai.
